Healer by Kari Jobe

Behold, I will bring it health and healing; I will heal them and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. (Jeremiah 33:6)

Personal story

I meet a lady and her husband in car repair shop; I was talking to her and she was very distant person but her husband is very nice. One day a friend of mine told me about her, that she is very sick and she had cancer in her stomach and bones. I give my number to my friend to give to her so she can call me because I did not have her phone number. The next day, she called me with a very soft voice; I asked her if I could come to her house to see her, she agrees. In a few hours I was in her house, we pray first with her and her husband and both of them started feeling the presence of God. I told them about my Jesus and what He can do all things that are impossible to men, but is possible to God. But you have to have that faith and receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. She told me; she used to go to a church and the people hurt her and she just don’t like go to churches anymore.

After, I show them some bible verses and explain to them that people make mistake without knowing it. I ask her to forgive the people; I told her the bible says; (Matthew 6:14-15) " For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." They told me that they never had someone told or explain to them the bible so simple that they were able to understand until I had explained to them. I told them what the bible said in (1 Corinthians 1: 26-31) "For ye see in your calling, brethren, how not many wise men according to the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called. But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world and things which are despised hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things which are, that no flesh should glory in His presence. But because of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who from God is made unto us wisdom and righteousness, and sanctification and redemption, that according as it is written: “He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord."

I visited her few more times and talk to her about Jesus; she said her husband is not saved but she received Jesus as her Lord and Savior. She asked me to pray for her husband that he will also receive Jesus Christ in to his life. Most of the time, when I visited her she is very weak and stays in the bed. But when she felling better she started going to church, and with her husband in her side, this year he also received Jesus Christ as his Savior… now his is saved. Almost two years they are still going and growing to become a mature Christian. I thank God for calling and chosen a wretch like me to work for Him, to help other people in needs. The bible says in (Ephesians 4: 2-6) "with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all."

As a Christian counselor, I understand that the Bible has a lot of practical wisdom about human nature, marriage and family, human suffering, and so much more. By using biblical concepts in counseling, we can show them the way Jesus want us to walk and talk... we are accountable for our action. The bible say (Psalm 119:24) "Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counselors." The major strategy is to help our clients substitute biblical truth for error as they go about their day-to-day lives. When they know that the truth, when know, believed, and obeyed, God sets people free. When people are set free, they are fulfilling their true calling. (John 8:32) "And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

(Hebrews 4:12)  "For the Word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart."

My goals in Christian ministries, is very basic purpose. Everything I do is to give glory to my Lord Jesus Christ. This is my highest motivation and all encompassing purpose. Not to give glory to me, but to God be all the glory and I evaluate what I do by this standard. Talk to other churches, partnership to reach out together to love the unreachable people. I also go to two different jail, I been doing it since May of 2009, Jail Ministry to Aiken, SC. and Phinizy Jail, Augusta, GA. every Thursday and Sunday of the week.

I also believe that mankind is lost and needs to be redeemed through our Lord Jesus Christ, whom I proclaim as my Savior. My entire ministry is motivated by this belief.

My major focus is on reaching unsaved people. I want to minister among individuals and communities who have never had the opportunity to understand the Gospel. I also speak to other churches about how good is my God and give my personal testimonies that He give His only Son for me so I become His child. He saved me because He loves me so much that He give His mercy and grace, only by the blood of Jesus Christ I am redeemed, that I don’t deserve. The bible says; (Ephesians 5:8-10) "For ye were sometimes darkness, but now ye are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth), proving what is acceptable unto the Lord."

I acknowledge that the ultimate human need is to know God. I also believe that He has called us to compassionate, holistic service in this broken world. Jesus is our example as we minister to people who are suffering. This involves teaching the Word of God, helping people to discover their God-given gifts, enabling them to serve others, and helping them become mature in Christ.

As a Christian, God is the center of my life. Christian counseling takes this fact and brings analytic skills into a process that helps people understand the source of their problems. Ultimately, these problems will either be founded on people’s own sin, or founded on sin or misfortune that has happened to them. However, it is easy to oversimplify things; and so is highlighted a strength of counseling. Counseling at its best can recognize the different, and sometimes-complex factors that go towards making a person how they are: their emotional, spiritual and mental states.

With the help and teaching of the Creation Therapy, I can learn to identify the counselee’s temperament through the A.P.S. “ Man or Woman is physical, emotional and spiritual being with basic needs. When man or woman is seeking to meet these needs, he or she is driven in his attempts to the things of the world for his or her satisfaction.”

As a Christian counseling, it is my responsibility to help the counselee recognize that they are responsible for their own behavior in all situations and for their sins. I need to know and understand my rights and calling to teach, instruct, encourage, advise, listen, love and believe in the counselee.

Christian Counseling is essentially about having a formal setting to share counselee problems with someone who has been trained to be both sympathetic and analytic in their approach to dealing with personal problems. It can be very effective for bringing release from personal burdens.
